news > 6 june 2006 Benefit Meal for Friend Farmed Animal RescueOn Tuesday 6 June a benefit meal was held at Pogo Cafe in East London to raise funds for Friend Farmed Animal Rescue. Organised by people involved with Vegan Campaigns, there was a three course vegan buffet, free raffle and band Probably Not, who played for free and helped make it a great evening. The three bottom pictures to the left are from Friend. A local artist made them into prints and generously donated them for the first prize in the draw. We also had donations from Redwoods and Beanies which were much appreciated, a big thanks to both companies. Redwoods also gave us food to include in a lovely hamper, which was given as the second prize in the raffle. Thanks are also due to Pogo Cafe who let us use the restaurant and facilities for free; and to everyone else who helped out. The evening made £555 which was fantastic, and made even better when a cheque arrived the next day for £111, making the total a brilliant £666! Friend Farmed Animal Rescue sent a message, ".. please say a huge thank you to all that were involved in making last night happen and all supporters for helping the lovely animals".
