news > 7 June 2008 Vegan Outreach Stall at Better Haringay Green Fair and Catering at Animal Aid Sponsored WalkWe were delighted to have the opportunity to cater at the Animal Aid sponsored walk at Hampstead Heath this afternoon. This was a great chance for us to promote the group, and raise some much needed funds for reprinting of recipe booklets and for other forthcoming vegan campaigning. People unrelated to the Animal Aid walk also bought some of the yummy food available - one little girl had a dairy intolerance and was particularly excited to be able to have Kaye's scrumptious chocolate banana cake! Meanwhile, north east of Hampstead Heath, other Vegan Campaigns volunteers set up a stall at the Haringay Green Fair event. A number of really interested people spoke to us at the stall. We sold a range of vegan recipe books, vegan cakes, snacks and drinks. We also gave away lots of copies of our Vegan Beginner and the Vegan Society Why Vegan? leaflets. One woman came up to the stall and said she had seen us at a green event last year, and has become vegan as a result! The picture to the left is three council staff who were dressed for the occasion reading our Vegan Beginner booklet! |
